Classroom Discussions and Field Works

Classroom discussions introduced us the things that we should learn from this subject, Intensive Reading. It helped us get deeper understandings about reading and introduced us the seen principles of reading. This course then made me realizes that reading is indeed a complex process.

            Classroom discussion is a good way of handing down the learning to the students. This is the time when a teacher and the students will have an interaction. And having those learning be put into application right after the discussion or as long as the learning is still fresh in the mind of the students, the learning they get will surely be retained in their minds for a long period of time or will even last for a lifetime. Letting the students be engaged with the topics that are being discussed to them is indeed the best strategy in teaching. This is where the learning by doing applied.

            Most of the topics that were introduced in this subject were done with a series of classroom activities, field works and even homework. We’ve learned a lot through those activities. Sometimes we got confused with the tasks that were assigned to us but we still were able to do the things that are being asked especially if it’s a group work because we are helping each other to make the output be realized.

            This course made us be more exposed with the field works which is a benefit on us. Those were actually done by our teacher in preparation for our future field of work. And I am so thankful that we are given such kind of activities so to enhance my skills that is useful for my future career.
